For the book cover redesign project, I selected The Country Will Bring Us No Peace, a haunting narrative about a couple fleeing the chaos of city life for a quiet, remote town only to discover that their new surroundings are far from peaceful. The tension between escape and entrapment, calm and unease, became central to my visual concept.

To reflect the story’s eerie undertones, I incorporated subtle symbolism (such as a looming radio antenna, a main theme in the story) to foreshadow the unsettling events that unfold. The composition frames the couple’s arrival from a distant perspective to invite the viewer to question whether their new beginning is truly a fresh start, or something darker that is unfolding.
